your party? Add flowers. You already have flowers so how can that be a way to jazz it up? Are your flowers frozen? Freeze flowers in ice cubes to add to the drinks.  Freeze different blooms into an ice bowls or added to a sculpture.  Try threading them onto your cocktail straws. 

IMPORTANT REMINDER – Make sure your blooms are non toxic.  While some people add dandelions or even violets to salads, just be careful that anything you use is pesticide free and will not harm anyone.

Summer wedding color ideas

Are you planning a summer wedding?  Are you wondering what the colors to use? 

The colors you choose for your wedding day set the style and tone for your entire event.  You use these colors for you bridesmaids’ dresses, decorations, cake, favors, flowers, accessories, table linens and even the invitations.  Keep in mind the decor of where the wedding and the reception is being held.  Will the colors you choose clash with the decor of these venues?  What kind of mood are you trying to create?  If your mood is dramatic then you want bold and vibrant colors.  If you are trying to create a romantic feeling then you would use softer colors.  And don’t forget the season, fall and winter colors are usually darker but spring and summer colors are generally brighter. 

2011 Wedding color trends are: orange, yellow, lavender, bright blue, coral, red, emerald and  violet.

Have you ever wondered what “three times a bridesmaid, never a bride” means?  It dates back to about the 16th century.  If a young woman , who had been a bridesmaid three times and was unable to find a suitor, then she never would find a man to marry.  But, if she was a bridesmaid for seven times, then the spell was broken and she would find a husband.
